“The time will come when, with great elation, you will greet yourself at your own door, in your own mirror, and each will smile at the others welcome.” ~Derek Walcott
The old year is done, the new year is here. Time to be present and let go of things that are no longer serving you – this is the time to release and renew. After the unfortunate and unforgettable year that 2020 was, we all need something to help guide us into an uncertain future. I’ve used vision boards as an annual tool for focusing on what I want to bring into my life for many years. Vision boards are one of the most valuable visualization tools available because the mind responds strongly to visual stimulation.
A vision board can provide a snapshot of the future, a tangible representation of where you are going or what you want the universe to bring to you. By seeing your vision board on a daily basis, especially before bed or before a yoga practice, it will create the intentional vibration in the universe called the Law of Attraction. The Law of Attraction is the belief that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into your life. Creative visualization using affirmations and intentions is a powerful combination believed to bring opportunities by using universal energy. Incorporating these tools along with the vision boards will materialize your goals into reality.
Vision boards are helpful in identifying your vision and to help give it clarity, reinforcing your affirmations and keeping your attention on your intentions. They help provide a landscape in which you can map out your goals in a fun and motivating way. Think of a word, mantra or intention to start. Making an intention is like taking aim with your arrow to a target. If your intention is visible it will give you focused direction towards your goals. You will find yourself making choices that naturally expedite the journey toward those goals. This process helps to work through your own personal reservations, challenges, and unprocessed emotions.
For me the vision board process is organic and creative, but I try to keep in mind these 7 areas
